How It’s Done
Body-Jet/Water-Assisted Liposuction: Exclusively available at WSC, this technique allows for a more controlled procedure with less pain and a faster recovery. This procedure makes harvesting fat easier for any necessary fat grafting.
Am I A Candidate?
It is important to realize that liposuction is neither a shortcut to weight loss nor a substitute for a proper diet. The goal of liposuction is not to lose weight, but to improve body contour. If you are frustrated and self-conscious with persistent ‘bulges’ that will not go away despite your best efforts, this may be the procedure for you.
What To Expect
Liposuction is an outpatient procedure, meaning patients may return home after the procedure. Patients may experience minimal discomfort that is easily controlled with oral medication.
You will experience some bruising and swelling after surgery, as well as numbness around the incision lines. You may be asked to wear a tight-fitting garment, similar to a girdle, that will help decrease swelling and provide support.
Most patients are back to work within five days but should avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for 2-3 weeks.
We provide detailed preoperative and postoperative instructions at Western Surgery Centre. If you feel ready to discuss your options with us, we would love to speak with you.
