Brow and Forehead Lift

face-forehead

A forehead lift, or brow lift, brings the brow line to a higher position. By reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, it provides a more youthful appearance.

Patients can get a brow lift in conjunction with other procedures like facelifts, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.

How It’s Done

The type of surgical technique we use is dependant on
the position of a patient’s eyebrows, the amount of excess upper eyelid
skin they have, the depth of forehead wrinkling, and the height of their hairline. Our plastic surgeon makes an incision across the top of the scalp behind the hairline starting above the ears. Through these incisions, the surgeon can modify or remove parts of the muscles that cause frown lines, smooth the forehead by removing excess skin and lift your eyebrows to a more youthful position.

Am I A Candidate?

If you are in good general health and have specific but realistic goals for the improvement of your appearance, there is no defined age limit for this procedure.

What To Expect

Facelift surgery patients can return home the same day of surgery. Typical recovery time is approximately 3-4 weeks with mild discomfort. Bruising and swelling of the eyes and forehead is normal and should subside within 2 to 3 weeks. Some numbness of the skin is quite normal and disappears in a few weeks. Patients should rest for the first 4-7 days post-operatively. Patients should refrain from any physical activity for 3 weeks after surgery.

We provide detailed preoperative and postoperative instructions at Western Surgery Centre.
