As we age, the collagen-scaffolding and adipose tissue supporting our skin slowly break down. Skin loses its structure and begins to sag. Fat implants fill out areas of the face and body that have experienced fat loss due to aging. The most common areas for fat implants are around the eyes, mouth, and cheeks.
Fat Injection and Fat Grafting
The procedure often takes up to 1 hour to complete. We put the patient under a general anesthetic. We can combine fat grafting with other procedures.
How It’s Done
Our surgeons liposuction fat from a fat-rich part of the body and, once cleaned, reinject the fat into the area with a small needle.

What To Expect
Patients can return home the same day as the procedure. Most patients experience minimal discomfort they can control with oral medication. Although the swelling may be slightly noticeable, patients can return to normal activities within 48 to 72 hours after surgery. With time, especially if there is insufficient blood supply to the graft, some fat implants may dissipate. Overall, fat implants tend to be permanent and low-risk solutions to cosmetic issues.
